Re:newcell omvandlar textilt avfall till en unik cellulosamassa – Circulose – som levereras vidare i form av massa-ark som sedan spinns till Circulose, vad är det? Tillsammans med circuloseproducenten Re:newcell lanserar H&M i vår en klänning tillverkad av återvunnen textil. Materialet, Circulose, är med på Times lista över de 100 bästa innovationerna 2020. – Renewcell är tillsammans med Galecto, Tobii och MIPS Klänning gjord av Renewcells Circulose.
Through their own patented process, re:newcell takes textiles, such as cotton and viscose, and transforms it into Circulose®. By doing so, this is lessening the use of organic cotton, Renewcell’s customers use Circulose® as a raw material to produce natural biodegradable textile fibers like viscose and lyocell.

Efter flera år av forskning och utveckling lanserades de första plaggen med svenska Renewcells återvunna material, kallat circulose, i mars i år. Det var en del av klädjätten och delägaren H&M:s Renewcell köper in råvara (textil) som sedan förädlas till en massaprodukt kallad “circulose” som därefter används för ny textilframställning.

Renewcell stated that the reason the fashion sector’s adoption of circular fibres was lagging was due to the low availability of these solutions at scale. The collaboration between the two brands will boost Circulose fibre production in the course of the next five years …

Vid demonstrationsanläggningen i Kristinehamn har Renewcell som mest kunnat ta emot 5 000 ton textilavfall per år. Svenska Renewcell har utvecklat en process för kemisk återvinning av textilier. Den gör det möjligt att ta gamla plagg, bryta ner dem och tillverka en dissolvingmassa som kan användas till att göra nya kläder. Materialet kallar bolaget ”circulose”.
